How It Works
Activate your Hom-E-lert home monitor by going to the website listed in your manual. Setting up an account is fast
and easy. Choose your contact list and select the method of notification for each person on the list (email or text message).
Once you activate it, Hom-E-lert is ready to use right out of the box. Simply attach the antenna and plug into any wall outlet. Hom-E-lert
comes with pre-configured wireless cellular service so there's no need to connect it to any phone line or Internet. The unit
will immediately begin to search for available cellular service and once it's found, the "online" light will stop
flashing and and stay lit.
Under normal operation, Hom-E-lert monitors power contantly and takes a room temperature reading every 4 hours. If
all is well, Hom-E-lert will send a daily signal to the website once a day to make sure the unit is online and everything
is fine. If the unit fails to check in, a notification of "Missed Checkin" will be sent to the contact list.
If power is lost, Hom-E-lert will wait 5 minutes then send notifications to everyone on your contact list. Notices will continue
every hour until power is restored.
Additionally, if any temperature reading is outside the Minimum/Maximum range, the Hom-E-lert will send a temperature warning
during it's periodic check.
